Another full week here at SHoE. The Bears finished out their third week of three games in three nights. As Meatloaf would say “Two out of three ain’t bad.” But then again it isn’t great either when you look at the defensive implosion in Sunday’s game against the Norfolk Admirals. They had just beaten the same team on Friday night. Saturday they added another convincing win against Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

In other happenings this week around SHoE:

Later today look for a new post on what I am calling “The Richmond Factor”.

Now on to the rest…

The Old Barn is back with their final show before the new year. They talk about concussions and I think Brock might end up with one if he keeps getting hit like this. [OBHS]

  • Part 1 – Bears talk and Brock must have a target on him.
  • Part 2 – Brock takes more hits. John Walton calls in to talk about the Caps and NHL.
  • Part 3 – Coaching changes and more on player safety. Brock continues to get pummeled.

Hearken back to the days of the player/coach. One of those was the 79-80 season with the Bears. Doug Gibson was that man, and they won a Calder Cup. [LDN]

Finally, tonight is Social Media Night for the Bears game against the Syracuse Crunch. They have been posting some behind the scenes photos on facebook. There is also a contest running on twitter. Keep an eye on those for more promotions leading up to and during the game.
