SOS: Admirals’ Iceberg Sinks Hershey’s Titanic

Have you ever played the game Battleship? It felt like the Bears and Admirals were playing it tonight with both teams going back and forth all night long. But Norfolk was the winner of this game, hitting B1, 2, 3, and 4 and sinking S.S. Bears, 4-3.

The Bears played a good game all night long, matching Norfolk almost goal for goal all night long, but the Admirals were able to get that one extra goal to gave them the two points.

Mark Barberio and Michel Ouellet got Norfolk a 2-0 lead early with Barberio scoring just over two minutes into the game and Ouellet scoring on the power play.

Hershey answered back with a late first period goal from Matt Pope and an early second period goal from the AHL’s leading scorer Chris Bourque tied the game up at two.

Just over a minute later, Norfolk answered Bourque’s goal with a goal from Brandon Segal after a misplay of the puck from Braden Holtby.

Kyle Greentree would score his first goal since the Outdoor Classic on the power play to tie the game back up, this time at three.

But Norfolk would have the say and sunk Hershey with another goal from Segal, giving them the two point (and with a Wilkes-Barre loss, the lead in the division.)
