Hershey adds veteran forward Jamie Johnson

The Bears have announced the signing of speedy center Jamie Johnson. Johnson returns from a brief one year stint in the KHL with the Riga Dynamo. He totals over 400 games of American Hockey League experience with the Iowa Stars, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Albany River Rats, Rochester Americans and Grand Rapids Griffins. His best point production season was in 2009-10 with Rochester, when he tallied 27 goals and 71 points in 80 regular season games.

 


 

Florida Panthers sign Joey Crabb

Joey Crabb was a pleasant surprise late last season to the Hershey Bears and its fans after clearing waivers and being assigned to Hershey. An hour into free agency, Crabb signed a two year deal with the Florida Panthers. In 12 regular season games with the Bears, Crabb averaged a point per game, as well as a goal per game in the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs. It was announced in early June by Crabb’s agent that he had no intention in resigning with the Washington Capitals organization.

 


 

Former Bear Boyd Gordon goes to Edmonton

Former Bear Boyd Gordon signed a 3-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers. Gordon was a member of the 05-06 team when Hershey would go to the Calder Cup finals and win their first cup in nine years.

 


 

Keith Aucoin heads to St. Louis

Former AHL and Hershey Bears MVP, Keith Aucoin, heads to the St. Louis Blues after a successful season in New York. In 41 games with the Islanders, Aucoin had 12 points (6-6-12) and a .485 faceoff percentage. Aucoin played four seasons in Hershey.

 


 

Matt Hendricks joins Nashville

One time Bear Matt Hendricks heads to Nashville with a 4-year, $7.4 million deal. Hendricks was a key part of Hershey’s 2006-07 Calder Cup run.
