Hershey Bears keith aucion-1

Two time Calder Cup champion Keith Aucion is heading overseas. The leading scorer for the Chocolate and White during the 2009-10 campaign has signed a deal with Ambrì-Piotta of the NLA in Switzerland. After spending 13 seasons between the AHL and NHL, Aucion will play in Europe for the first time in his career.

The Massachusetts native spend four seasons in Hershey, winning a cup with the Bears in 2009 and 2010. Between 2008 and 2012, “Coiner” spent 238 regular season games in a Chocolate and White uniform, scoring 344 points, with 106 of those coming in 2009-10 when he was named AHL MVP.

Aucoin spent his last season in the Capitals organization in 2011-12, when he was called up mid-way though the season to Washington with Dale Hunter as the bench boss. Aucion had 70 points though 43 games that season with the Bears, and was on pace to set a new record in assists for Hershey before his recall. The 35-year-old center is seventh all time in AHL points with 857, just behind Bears great Mike Nykoluk.
