Hershey Bears Photos of The Year 2016

Dan Ellis lays on the ice after allowing a goal during practice in Toronto during the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs

Every year, I take thousands of photos. Between January and December of this year, I took taken roughly 93-thousand photos of Bears games. So you understand how tough it is for me to publish photos after each game, let alone go through every photo I’ve taken and publish after the game. That leaves a load of photos that never see the light of day. Below are 30 of my best photos from 2016 I never got the chance to publish.

Nathan Walker celebrates so hard in the first game of the new year, he slipped and fell. Don’t worry, Nathan, nobody was around to document this moment.

Dan Ellis fist bumps a junior starter of the game.

Some of my favorite photos are of current Bears playing against Hershey in the season before. This is one is even funnier when you realize Christian Thomas is holding back his future teammate, Garrett Mitchell.

I have a bunch of photos of Liam O’Brien making epic faces. This was the best one.

Nathan Walker looks up at Chandler Stephenson during faceoff practice.

“Hey how ya doing lil momma let me whisper in ya ear…”

Jakub Vrana always leaves his emotions on the ice. Here he hugs Justin Peters after Pete Dawg made a spectatular save against Lehigh Valley.

Riley Barber and Paul Carey practice the tango for the next season of Dancing with the Stars have some fun at the end of a practice one day.

Scott Gomez tosses a puck to a few Bears fans during warm-ups.

Tyler Lewington punches Brandon Prust during a game in February.

Liam O’Brien and Madison Bowey celebrate a win after a game in March.

This photo of Chris Bourque yelling at an official after flipping the net might be my favorite photo of the year.

Riley Barber looks on during warm-ups prior to a game in Lehigh Valley.

Dan Ellis prepares for a game in late March. I really enjoyed this photo because of how much it makes that matte finished mask pop.

Doug Yingst is presented a collage of photos from AHL President Dave Andrews during Doug’s retirement ceremony

Doug Yingst hugs Bears longtime trainer Dan “Beaker” Stuck.

Pretty much everybody in this photo is happy Chris Bourque just sealed a win for the Bears against Wilkes-Barre except Chris.

I posted another shot like this from a few seconds earlier on my personal Instagram, but I really enjoy this version with more light because it shows how alone a goalie can be in some moments.

Prior to the playoffs, the Bears went over to City Island to take a few swings after batting practice. Here, Travis Boyd begins his swing.

The Bears salute the crowd after beating the Portland Pirates in five games.

Zach Sill tries to pull Steve Oleksy from a scrum during game six of the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

I actually already published this photo, but I published almost every photo from game seven last year. The Bears were seriously hype af after Travis Boyd scored the game winning goal in game seven against Wilkes-Barre.

Jakub Vrana squirts water towards William Nylander after Nylander scored in game four of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Beaker shakes hands with Connor Carrick after the Bears beat the Marlies in five games.

Towels lay on the seats in Giant Center prior to game two of the Calder Cup Finals.

Former teammates Steve Eminger and Chris Bourque talk after game four of the Calder Cup Finals.

Colby Williams helps a young fan skate at Season Ticket Holder night.

Jakub Vrana gives props to a teammate after scoring in November

Aaron Ness and Travis Boyd jump in celebration after the two connected to score against Syracuse in December.
