This may be the best giveaway the Hershey Bears will ever have. Saturday night will be Chris Bourque Garden Gnome night. Next to the Buck Showalter Garden Gnome, this is the greatest garden gnome we’ve ever seen.
“I mean I didn’t design it that’s for sure,” said Chris Bourque about it. “But it’s alright.”
Saturday night’s Hershey Bears game will be a special one as the team will honor longtime GM Doug Yingst prior to the game, along with a bobblehead to be given out to the first 5,000 fans. And I have to say, this might be one of the best bobbleheads I’ve ever seen.
The Hershey Bears are giving away one of the most unique items in team history on Saturday night January 10. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Nathan Walker Snow Globe, courtesy of Metro Bank. The snow globe pictures the Australian native in shorts and flip-flops, holding his hockey stick, next to a kangaroo. Australia is now starting its summer season.
The first time Joel Rechlicz saw his “bobble fist” that will be handed out to Bears fans Saturday night, he was as giddy as a 10-year-old getting the Lego version of the Millenium Falcon on Christmas Morning. Luckily, there was a camera rolling during the ceremonial presentation to Joel of the bobble fist modeled after his likeness.
