In this episode of Chocolate Hockey Plays, Jakub Vrana and Vitek Vanecek tackle the FIFA FUT Draft. After selecting a team, the two take on another person online. The results are hilarious.
Forward Jakub Vrana has been recalled by the Washington Capitals – his first NHL call-up.
In 18 games for Hershey this season, Vrana has 16 points with nine goals. Vrana, 20, is in his third season with the Bears, playing 57 games for the Chocolate and White, including 31 playoff games.
Vrana was drafted by the Capitals in the first round in 2014, 13th overall. The Czech Republic native came to Hershey in 2015, scoring his first pro goal on May 2, 2015.
Any Hershey Bears fan would be able to recognize their favorite player if they encountered them off the ice, right? There is no other way to picture the athletes than as hockey players. As for people who have never attended a Bears game? They wouldn’t have any idea that the guy standing in line behind them is a professional ice hockey player.
I asked high school students who don’t know anything about the Bears what they believe their occupations are. The students were given head shots of eleven players with the jerseys cropped out. They did not know anything about the project being conducted. These are their answers:
In his first win of the season, Vitek Vanecek had a lot happen. He made some fantastic saves, his defense made some beautiful clearances, and his teammate and countryman Jakub Vrana gave up his number one star of the game to him. Oh yeah, and he also made one of the best saves you will see all season.
Early on in the third period, Lehigh Valley was attacking and put a nice wrist shot on net. Vitek would make the first save, but the puck came loose in front and got fed to Phantoms forward Andy Miele. That’s when one of the most acrobatic saves I have ever seen occurred.
Whether on purpose or by accident, Vanecek let his stick go flying. But the way he threw it, was perfectly in line with Miele’s shot, deflecting the puck away and preserving Hershey’s 3-2 lead. This is something you have to see.
During the regular season, we began our Hershey Bears video game series with Bears forward Jakub Vrana taking on Jonas Siegenthaler in a game of FIFA 16. Now, only weeks away from UFC 202, featuring a rematch of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, we have decided it’s now a perfect time to feature another match-up from that day. Vrana takes on Liam O’Brien in UFC 2. Vrana will fight out of the blue corner as Nate Diaz, as O’Brien fights out of the red as The Notorious Conor McGregor.

The Hershey Bears won one of the most dramatic games in Giant Center history Wednesday night. This game had a lot coming starting all the way on Monday night after Tom Sestito and Liam O’Brien had some top notch banter on Twitter.
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has arrived. Jakub Vrana v. Jonas Siegenthaler. FIFA 16. Two of the biggest prospects in the Washington Capitals organization take each other on in one of the most popular videos games ever made.

Monday afternoon, the American Hockey League announce Hershey Bears forward Jakub Vrana has been named AHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 7th, 2016. Vrana had a great weekend for the Chocolate and White, scoring three goals and four assists for seven points, along with one dab.

The Bears have been on a roll lately, thanks in part to the play of the young forwards on Hershey’s squad. During Hershey’s Saturday night game against Lehigh Valley, the 2014 first round pick for the Washington Capitals Jakub Vrana scored a beauty of a goal and did the only worthy celebration: dabbing.
After being down four goals with 35 minutes left on Saturday, the Hershey Bears have rattled off ten goals and two wins. The Bears current line-up looks a lot different than it did a few weeks ago. Centerman Chandler Stephenson is still injured with an upperbody injury, Zach Sill is still called up to Washington and currently suspended. Aaron Ness and Ryan Stanton are working Washington’s blue line as Brooks Orpik and John Carlson are both on injured reserve. Despite all of that, the Bears are staying strong, taking games a weekend at a time.
