Welcome to Chocolate Fix on the day of our viewing party. Please join us and other Bears fans tonight at Fire Alley in Hershey to see the boys take on the Binghamton Senators. Everything gets underway at 6:30, so get there to claim your spot near one of the many TVs. Because of the party, our twitter coverage of the game will be a little lighter than normal. The game recap will probably also be delayed, but don’t worry we will have it covered. Your best bet is to come join us!

There was a lot happening this past week. Last Wednesday night the Bears hosted the St. John’s IceCaps for the first time ever. Hershey greeted them properly and came away with a win. Next up was a weekend doubleheader against the Charlotte Checkers. Before the game on Saturday came the biggest news of the season. AHL President Dave Andrews joined Bears GM Doug Yingst to announce that Hershey will be hosting an outdoor game next year to celebrate Hershey’s 75th anniversary! After that the Bears went on to beat the Checkers. On Sunday they extended their winning streak to six games with another win over Charlotte.

And now a look at Bears news from elsewhere…

When the Bears played the St. John’s IceCaps for the first time, they left with only one point out of four. Tonight they got a chance to earn some more in front of the Hershey faithful.

The Bears are known for their strong starts and they did not disappoint tonight. Mike Carman scored first off of a Garrett Mitchell feed from behind the goal. With a few minutes left in the first period, Boyd Kane scored a shorthanded breakaway goal to give the Bears a two goal lead at the break.

The Bears have followed up a lackluster weekend with one where they grabbed three wins and all six available points in the standings. It started with a Friday night win at home over Adirondack. Saturday brought Albany to town and another win. Then both teams traveled to Albany for the back end of the home-and-home series where the Bears picked up the final win of the weekend.

Tonight the Bears will be looking to avenge the losses in St. John’s by welcoming the Ice Caps to the Giant Center for the first time. It’s also Hersheypark pass night, so be prepared for a big crowd even though it is a Wednesday game. You can check out the pre-game from Tim Leone.
