HERSHEY, PA – Joel Rechlicz smiles before the first game of the Hershey Bears’ 2013-14 season (Kyle Mace / Sweetest Hockey on Earth)

Every year on opening night, I get a little too excited and take way too many photos just because I haven’t been able
to shoot real hockey in a few months, so we always end up with extra photos we’ll probably never use. Instead of letting those photos go to waste, we’ve decided to bring you a photo post!

Photos: Bears Celebrate Halloween in Hershey

Chris Bourque and Cody Eakin model their Halloween costumes this year.

It’s that time of year again – the time when people are expected to wear a costume and take part in general tomfoolery. When else do you get to see Cody Eakin as Ron Weasley and Chris Bourque as Justin Bieber?

Thanks to the magic of Twitter, we were able to get a look a few of the Hershey Bears’ costumes this Halloween. Hockey players – so like us. After the jump, check out a few other costumes from the Hershey boys.

We wish our readers and a safe and happy Halloween! If you have any hockey-related costumes or pumpkin carvings, leave a comment and let us know!

Your Photos and Video from Opening Night

We asked. You answered.

We had so many amazing pictures to go through that it was hard to narrow them down! This post could have easily ended up a mile long. We have coverage from the opening Calder Cup ceremony to the auction after the game, and, of course, pictures from the game itself. If you weren’t at Giant Center on Saturday night, you should definitely scroll down to see everything you missed out on!

We Want Your Photos From Opening Night

Sweetest Hockey on Earth needs your help! Saturday is going to be a huge day for Bears fans. They get to witness the hanging of the newest championship banner and see the team play their first home game of the season! If the Caps are using the motto “Stay angry” for this season, then I propose that the Bears go with “Stay champions.” Every championship team needs a loyal following and Hershey has the best fans in the entire league.

Using fan input, Russian Machine Never Breaks composed one of the most comprehensive and interesting recaps of the Caps Convention. Much in the same vein, we are creating one giant entry with all the news from opening night. Kyle M. and I will be there, tweeting about the game, taking pictures, and cheering on the team. But we want to hear from the other fans too!

Wherever you’re sitting, let’s see this game from your perspective! Take pictures and videos. Document the ceremony, the game, and the concourse. We want it all! Once you’re finished partying it up in Giant Center, send your photos and stories over to thecrew@chocolatehockey.com. We’ll put them all together and create an entry covering the night from many angles. Hershey Entertainment is even making it easier on you by allowing all cameras in Giant Center tomorrow night.

The game isn’t a sellout yet but there are a dwindling number of tickets left. If you don’t already have tickets, act fast because you’re going to be missing out on a party!
